Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-14-draft-1 · Effective October 14, 2026 · Draft · COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS PARTNER, LLC
GovCompanion (CSP) is operated by COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS PARTNER, LLC. This notice describes the public website request forms, the SMS consent flow and the GovCompanion application used by CSP staff and Client Partner users.
Information you provide
Demo requests collect your name, email, organization and any role, community, interests or message you submit. The community-access request form collects name, email, ZIP code and selected interests. We use those submissions to respond to the request. Signing in uses authentication and session cookies.
SMS information and choices
GovCompanion (CSP) collects your mobile number and SMS consent choices when you select the separate SMS checkbox. We retain the selected categories, time, source page, exact disclosure and policy versions as a permission history. A phone entry, imported contact, email agreement or demo-interest selection does not give SMS permission.
We do not sell or share mobile information or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. We may disclose information to service providers that deliver or support this messaging program, including our messaging platform and telecommunications providers, solely to provide that service. SMS consent is specific to this brand and program.
Account information
When you are invited to GovCompanion we keep your name, email address, role, organization and invitation history. When you use the application we record sign-in times, active sessions, the workspace you are working in, your acceptance of these policies (version, time, IP address and browser) and security logs. We use this information to provide access, apply your permissions, keep the service secure and investigate misuse.
Workspace content
Notes, contacts, documents, assignments, assessments and other records you create or change in GovCompanion are stored with who made the change and when, as activity history. Who can see them follows the application's permissions: CSP staff can see records across Client Partners; Client Partner users see their own organization's workspace and what CSP shares with it; some notes and operational records are visible only to their author or to CSP administrators.
Community and contact information from public sources
CSP compiles information about communities and their public officials and staff — such as names, titles, work email addresses, work phone numbers, ordinances and published program information — from public sources such as government websites, public records and published data sets. We use it to understand community programs and to contact communities about them. You can ask us to correct or remove information about you as described below.
Service providers
We use service providers to host the website, store information, authenticate users and deliver communications. These include Vercel for website hosting, Supabase for database storage and authentication, and Mapbox for community maps. We are transitioning email delivery to Telnyx, our selected email and SMS provider. During the transition, existing email services may continue to process request details and authentication messages. Communication providers receive the recipient details, message content and delivery information needed to provide the service. SMS enrollment information remains in our database until the messaging service is activated; saving consent does not send a text or forward it to Telnyx.
Sign-in codes, invitations and application notifications are sent through our email delivery provider, which receives the recipient address, the message content and delivery information needed to send them.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to requests, providing an active service, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting applicable legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the type of information, our relationship with you and any legal or contractual recordkeeping requirements.
For demo, support and community-access requests, we retain the information needed to handle the request and related follow-up. If a request develops into an ongoing relationship, relevant records may become part of that relationship. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or de-identified, unless a legal obligation or dispute requires continued retention.
We retain SMS consent and withdrawal records as needed to demonstrate permission and honor your choices. We retain a limited opt-out record for as long as needed to prevent unwanted messages, even when other information is deleted. Retaining a consent record does not authorize messages after consent has been withdrawn.
Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove copies in backups or security logs. Those copies remain subject to the applicable storage and retention cycles and must not be used to resume outreach. Records needed for a legal obligation, security investigation or dispute may be retained until that need ends.
We keep account information and activity history while your account is active and for as long afterwards as reasonably necessary for the same purposes — including showing who changed shared records, maintaining security and resolving disputes. Records of your acceptance of these policies are retained as evidence of the terms that applied to your use.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can request access to, correction of or deletion of information you provided, your account information, or information we compiled about you from public sources by emailing info@govcompanion.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some records may need to be retained for the purposes described above, including honoring an opt-out and keeping the history of shared records accurate. Client Partner users can also ask their organization's Client Partner Manager to update their profile or remove their access.
When messaging is activated, reply STOP to withdraw SMS consent for this program across both program numbers. Suppression is preserved separately from your permission history. HELP does not enroll you, and a new form submission does not override a previous STOP.
Read the SMS Terms or manage your choice on the SMS preferences page.
